Strength training could help you live longer…

More and more research is showing that strength training isn’t just about building muscle or improving your appearance – it could actually help you live a longer, healthier life.

One major study, which followed over 147,000 adults for up to 30 years, found that people who completed just 90–120 minutes of strength training each week had a lower risk of dying from a range of health conditions, including heart disease and neurological illnesses. The biggest benefits were seen when strength training was combined with regular cardiovascular exercise.

The best part? You don’t need to spend hours in the gym. Just two or three sessions a week can help maintain muscle mass, strengthen bones, improve balance, support everyday activities, and keep you feeling stronger as you get older.

Whether you’re completely new to the gym or looking to get back into a routine, our team at East Grinstead Sports Club is here to help. If you’d like some guidance on getting started with strength training, simply speak to one of our instructors – we’d be happy to help you take the first step.
